Feel Good Friday

Members of our Los Angeles office spent Friday morning volunteering at the Downtown Women’s Center in Downtown Los Angeles. The Downtown Women’s Center is a wonderful organization dedicated to helping end homelessness. in 2012 Hathaway Dinwiddie renovated their retail center and we are thrilled to be able to offer our services again, this time through volunteering at the Center.

We showed off our skills in the kitchen and helped prepare and serve a hot meal for the women at the center. On the menu: pesto chicken pasta, zucchini and cherry tomatoes, green salad and fresh watermelon and cantaloupe. It was rewarding to see the smiles! While some of us cooked, others sorted through donations the center receives and helped organize the donation center.

Many thanks to DWC for having us, and we look forward to coming back soon!

Pomona College Museum of Art Breaks Ground!

Here we go!

We are incredibly excited to break ground on the Pomona College Museum of Art.

While that may look like any old shovel in Superintendent Jason Fisher’s hand, it’s no ordinary shovel! Pomona College President David Oxtoby explained, it is quite special. “Over a century ago, in 1903, the third year of his presidency, Theodore Roosevelt spoke at Pomona College… He urged colleges like Pomona “to deal in so fresh a way that the net outcome shall be an addition to the world’s stock of wisdom and knowledge.’ On that occasion he planted a tree using this shovel, the Roosevelt shovel, which we use today at Pomona for every groundbreaking celebration.”

The purpose of this organization is as simple as it is important: to develop future business leaders with a lifelong commitment to community involvement and social responsibility.”

The evening benefitted Special Olympics of Southern California, Junior Achievement of Southern California and Team Prime Time.
