Foothill College PSEC Wins Award of Merit from ENR

The Physical Sciences and Engineering Center on Foothill College's Los Altos Hills campus was recently recognized in ENR California's Best Projects of 2013. Chosen from over 100 applicants, the PSEC is one of only three projects awarded in the Higher Education/Research category, and the only from Northern California.

Hathaway Dinwiddie led a team alongside URS Corporation and HOK at Leap's 30th Anniversary Sand Castle Contest. Leap is a program dedicated to keeping arts in education, and the Sand Castle Contest provides an opportunity for students in the program to plan, design, and build their projects. Hathaway Dinwiddie has consistently participated in the event-it is great fun, and HDCCo hopes to see you there next year!

Foothill College’s Physical Sciences & Engineering Center Wins “Best Green Project/Most Innovative Design (Public)” in Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Structures Awards 2013

The new Physical Sciences & Engineering Center at Foothill College was awarded "Best Green Project/Most Innovated Design (Public)" by the Silicon Valley Business Journal. Designed by Ratcliff Architects, the project incorporates the campus's Pacific-style architecture on the exterior and a sleek, "hip," interior inspired by tech giants in the Valley.

Engineering News-Record's 2013 Top 100 Green Contractors list was recently published, ranking Hathaway Dinwiddie as the 18th greenest contractor in the U.S. and the 3rd greenest contractor in California. ENR has recognized Hathaway Dinwiddie on its Top Lists many times, including 2013's Top 100 Contractors.

50 United Nations Plaza Opens in San Francisco’s Civic Center

On November 7th, 50 United Nations Plaza reopened after Hathaway Dinwiddie's extensive renovations were completed. San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and U.S. Representative Nancy Pelosi cut the ceremonial ribbon to open the building, which was constructed to achieve a LEED Platinum certification.

UC Irvine Social and Behavioral Sciences Building Achieves Certified LEED Platinum

UCI's Social and Behavioral Sciences Building has received a LEED Platinum certification. Sustainable features include: water efficient landscaping; implementation of an IAQ Management Plan during construction; construction waste diversion; extensive use of recycled, local and low-emitting materials; and indoor chemical & pollutant source control.

Hathaway Dinwiddie teamed with Genentech for the National Rebuilding Day on the Peninsula on April 27th. The companies combined their efforts to help update the Boys & Girls Club of South San Francisco. Work completed includes installing a brand new dance floor, painting the space with bright colors, much needed cleaning of the windows, installation of a new door and more! SFJAZZ and salesforce.com Win Commercial Real Estate Deal of the Year Awards

SFJAZZ, the first stand-alone concert hall dedicated exclusively to jazz, was awarded Best Public/Cultural Project at the Commercial Real Estate Awards by the San Francisco Business Times. Salesforce.com was also a winner in the Deal of the Year and Broker of the Year categories, as well as a finalist in the Best Office Lease category for the 50 Fremont space.

UTA Plaza, 9336 and 9346 Civic Center Drive in Beverly Hills, CA, was awarded Best Office Project at the Commercial Real Estate Awards by the Los Angeles Business Journal. The University of Southern California Roger & Michele Dedeaux Engemann Student Health Center won a silver award in the Best Medical Project category, and Pomona College Student Housing Huntington Park won a silver award in the Best Public Project category.

Hathaway Dinwiddie to Present at the Stanford University ASCE Speaker Series

Hathaway Dinwiddie’s Rick Arnesen, Tara Delaney, Lindsay Corotis and Scott Miller will be presenting at the Stanford University ASCE Speaker Series on Wednesday, March 6th at 12:00 p.m. in the Y2E2 building. They will discuss the SFJAZZ Center project and the Pixar Brooklyn building project in addition to sharing current information on where the industry is going with Vico software. Hathaway Dinwiddie’s relationship with Stanford University started in 1989 with immediate repairs to the Stanford Memorial Church after the 1989 earthquake, and we’ve continued to build many projects on the campus.
